Seven Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) students including four from Coral Springs schools are among the 2,500 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities announced today by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
School Board Candidate for District 4 Nick Steffens held his campaign kick-off on Tuesday evening at Wings Plus in Coral Springs.
Despite the rain, Steffens and volunteers had a good turnout of of supporters which included two mayors. School Board District 4 covers Parkland, Coral Springs, Tamarac, North Lauderdale and parts of Margate.

Coral Springs resident and LPGA teen sensation Lexi Thompson has made her choice who her prom date will be.
Back in April, Thompson posted a Youtube video inviting young servicemen between the ages of 18-20 to submit their stories to be her date at the Coral Glades High School Prom on May 18th.
The Coral Springs City Commission recognized 13 deserving high school seniors who were awarded Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarships for their freshman year in college.
With the generous assistance of the Coral Springs Community Chest as the major donor, the Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee was able to match their contribution, as well as supplement the Scholarship fund further by donations from various individuals and businesses in the community.
