The Lisa Boccard Breast Cancer Fund and Broward Health Coral Springs walked away from the Glam-A-THON Glam Doll Strut as winners this year with the award for the largest team, raising over $6000 for the foundation.
Calling themselves the “High Heelers,” 55 team members including Lisa Boccard, breast cancer advocate, survivor as well as sister to Coral Springs Mayor Vince Boccard walked away with the 2014 Glam Doll Warrior Crown.
Held at Esplanade Park, in downtown Fort Lauderdale October 18th, this marked the 8th year of South Florida’s most hip, glamorous Glam-A-THON event series assisting local South Florida women affected by breast cancer.
Hundreds of woman take part and are made up of teams of consisting of 1 to 1,000 members. Creativity is the game as each team makes up a name which incorporates the Glam theme, a pinch of breast cancer awareness, and an incredible sense of humor.
Hosting the event was Lynn Martinez from Deco Drive and judges included: Froggy from the Y-100 Elvis Duran Morning Show, Nina from Y-100, and Nathalie Rodriguez from MY 93.9.

Since 2011 Glam-A-THON has donated $266,000 to Broward Health Foundation to financially assist breast cancer patients being treated at the Lillian S. Wells Women’s Center and requiring mammograms through the Lisa Boccard Breast Fund.
