The Florida Panthers have announced that the club’s alumni will be joining the Coral Springs Fire Department and Coral Springs Police Department in the “Pucks for Bucks” charity hockey game at Florida Panthers IceDen in September.
Florida Panthers alumni Radek Dvorak, Ed Jovanovski, Bill Lindsay, Serge Payer, Marco Sturm, Tomas Vokoun and more will round out each team’s roster.
“The Florida Panthers are very pleased to be participating in this charity hockey game,” said Panthers Vice President of Broadcasting and Panthers Alumni Randy Moller. “With the overwhelming support from our alumni, we thank the first responders of Coral Springs for their service to the community. This is sure to be an excellent event as our alumni, the fire department and police department should provide us with an entertaining and exciting hockey game.”
VIP tickets, which include a private buffet dinner sponsored by Doris Italian Market & Bakery and wine courtesy of EPICA by Vino San Pedro, are $50 for person and are only available for purchase at the Florida Panthers IceDen. General admission tickets to the event are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Children under the age of five receive free admission.
“The Coral Springs Police have had a positive and long-standing relationship with the Florida Panthers,” said Coral Springs Chief of Police Tony Pustizzi. “We are proud to play alongside alumni of the organization to raise money for deserving non-profit charities in South Florida.”
In addition to the hockey game, there will be a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction with such prizes as weekend getaways, restaurant gift certificates, gift baskets and more. Proceeds from the game will benefit the Coral Springs Community Chest.
The event will be held on Sept. 26, at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at PanthersIceDen.com as well as at their location at 3299 Sportsplex Drive and can also be purchased via cash payment at City Hall in the Mall, Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce and BankUnited in Coral Springs.
A 501 non-profit organization, Coral Springs Community Chest was founded in 1988 on the premise that community resources should provide for community needs. There is no paid staff, so 98 percent of the funds raised are reinvested back into the community. Over the years, Coral Springs Community Chest has funded more than one million dollars to non-profit organizations that have services and programs benefiting Coral Springs residents.
