It’s so hard to resist those small plastic bags. Store clerks mindlessly fill them with one or two items, and they can’t help but double or triple bag them as they have become so flimsy. Take a look at people walking out of the grocery store, you will see nothing but a shopping cart full of 10-20 of these.

Coral Springs Resident Carly Goldstein, 16, was interviewed on the Sirius Radio program “Making The Turn” on March 8th along with her father, Golf Instructor Barry Goldstein. Carly, who is a Junior at Coral Glades High School, is an up-and-coming golfer who is being heavily recruited by colleges at this time. Her father Barry was voted as one of the “Top 25 Golf Instructors.

Broward County Public Schools recognized its outstanding employees this evening (March 1) with its new Caliber Awards during a combined ceremony held at the Signature Grand in Davie. The gala event replaces the annual ACCLAIM, Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year ceremonies held in the past. The event was streamed live by BECON-TV on the District’s website.

Broward Schools new Caliber Award will be presented to an outstanding teacher, principal, assistant princial and school-related employee at a ceremony to be held March 1st.
Students who will be 18-years-old on or before election day, will have an opportunity to register to vote in their high school’s media center or auditorium, during the Annual High School Voter Registration Drive. Read more for information on where your student can register.
Photographer Marie LaFauci is pictured on the historic covered bridge in Coral Springs wearing a TuTu that has traveled the world. She said that photographers would mail the TuTu to each other, take photos wearing it, then pass it on. Looks like Marie chose a great place to wear hers.
The Dr. Steven G. Paul Dog Park in the Coral Springs Sportsplex, built in the mid 90s, was one of the first Dog Parks in Florida and attracts dog lovers from surrounding cities as well. The idea for the dog park was developed in 1992 while Dr.Steven Paul, former Hospital Director of Wiles Road and Cypress Wood Animal Hospitals, was attending a veterinary conference in Massachusetts.
