Tamarac Resident Julie Shapiro-Harris kicked off her run for Circuit Court Judge on December 4th with a party at the home of Kim Miller of Coral Springs.

Besides being an attorney, Shapiro-Harris has a Master’s Degree in social work.  She currently works as a staff attorney for the Broward County Clerk of Court Domestic Violence Unit, where she is part of a division that seeks to protect victims of domestic violence.

“I chose to pursue a career in law for the same reasons that I chose to become a social worker, to help others.  However, as an attorney, I am a strong advocate as well,” said Shapiro-Harris.

“My interests outside the courthouse involve aiding others as well,” she said.  “As a member of the Tamarac Kiwanis, which is an international service organization, I regularly engage in projects to better our community and the lives of the people in it.”

Shapiro-Harris wants her supporters to know that she is the best candidate because she respects the law. “My reason for seeking the judgeship is to continue my service to the people of Broward County.”
