Matt Rothman



Matt Rothman, is a senior Journalism major at Florida Gulf Coast University. Originally from Long Island, he moved to Parkland shortly after high school. Matt currently is the assistant sports editor for his school paper, eaglenews.com and covers men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, and softball. His goal is to travel to every Major League Baseball stadium, and has been to multiple US Open finals. He hopes to one day to be a beat writer for a professional team. Contact Matt

Roy Trachtenberg


Roy Trachtenberg is a retired school administrator. He was born in Miami Beach, Florida but spent 35 years in the New York City school system. He is also a retired assistant professor of Education and one of the first to integrate technology into the classroom which he taught to other teachers. He is a former Dean of Education for a community college trade school where he developed curriculum for 9/11 workers displaced because of the terrorist attack.  He is married to Sharon Rosenthal and lives in Coral Springs. We remember: Contributing writer Andrew Markoff who died in 2015.

Andrew Markoff was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and worked in New York City as a staff assistant at The New Yorker Magazine. He got more involved political and community organizing after moving to Florida, where he started A.M. Editorial Services for businesses needing accreditation as well as individuals and groups seeking grants, business materials and policies & procedures. He presently works in support capacities for consultants in other states providing such business services. Politics, good government and participatory democracy are interests that take up much of Mr. Markoff’s time and efforts. He serves on the board of Florida Initiative for Electoral Reform (FLIER), serves as a committeeman for the Broward Democratic Party and has continued to serve in appointed municipal positions for the city of Hallandale Beach, Florida.
