A former hostage taken during the October 7 Hamas terror attack in Israel will share his story of survival at a Coral Springs event.
The program, titled “738 Days in Darkness: An Evening with Bar Kupershtein,” is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, and is being hosted by Chabad of Coral Springs.
Event organizers are directing attendees to the official registration page for full venue details.
Tickets are priced at $36 for general seating. A VIP option, which includes a reception and front row seating, is available for $125.
Kupershtein was kidnapped from the Nova music festival during the October 7, 2023, attack. He remained in Hamas captivity in Gaza for about two years before his release.
He had been working at the festival when the terror attack began. Rather than fleeing, Kupershtein repeatedly went back under fire to help wounded victims, assisting others before he was ultimately captured and taken into Gaza.
Organizers say Kupershtein is the oldest child in his family and has long carried significant responsibility after his father was seriously injured and left dependent on a wheelchair. They describe that background as central to both his actions during the Hamas attack and his endurance during captivity.
The upcoming Coral Springs event follows a previous program featuring former hostages Maya and Itay Regev, which drew a strong response from the community.
The April 19 program is intended to give local residents a firsthand account of the October 7 Hamas atrocities and their aftermath, while also providing an opportunity to support a survivor. Kupershtein maintained his faith despite enduring “hunger, beatings, and darkness” during captivity.
