Three out of the five commission seats are up for reelection in November, and all three incumbents are in the running for their respective seats.
The March 31 campaign finance reports show Vice Mayor Joshua Simmons (Seat 4) leading the pack, raising $27,801 since he announced his reelection campaign.
Simmons brought in $2,175 in March from 15 donors. According to campaign finance reports, individual donations ranged from $10 to $500.
Simmons’s campaign spent 7,575.39 in March. His total expenditures are $16,031.43.
In March, Mayor Scott Brook (Seat 1) brought in $1,400 from three donors, bringing his campaign contributions up to $10,025.
Coral Springs Trade Center LTD, or Amera Properties at 2900 N. University Drive, donated $1,000 to his reelection effort. Two individuals donated $200 each, according to financial documents.
Brook’s campaign spent $40.60 in March, and total expenditures are $767.96.
Cerra (Seat 2) has no donations as of press time.
The qualifying period for the November 8, 2022, election begins June 13 and continues through June 17.
