Who says city budgets have to be dry and dull?
The City of Coral Springs is shaking things up with an innovative approach to civic engagement. For the second year, residents can enjoy “Budget and Brews” while learning about the city’s budget.
This unique event blends public finance with the flavors of local eateries, providing an accessible and enjoyable way for residents to connect with the city’s budgeting process.
Taking place during the last week of August, Budget and Brews will transform the city’s financial discussions into a series of casual, informative gatherings held at Coral Springs spots.
So whether you’re a budget-savvy citizen or simply curious about where your tax dollars go, this event promises a blend of education and enjoyment that residents won’t want to miss.
Residents are encouraged to pull up a chair, grab a coffee, and chat with Coral Springs Budget & Sustainability Department representatives. Each session offers a deep dive into the city’s operating budget, spanning from October of this year through September of the next.
Get the inside scoop on how the city plans to allocate funds, prioritize services, and achieve its strategic goals—all within a relaxed, welcoming environment.
“The city’s budget serves as our yearly roadmap for allocating funds throughout the community,” said Ileana Kyriakides, Director of Budget & Sustainability. “Whether residents are interested in learning more about the budget process or simply want to ask questions while supporting some of our community’s favorite local businesses, we look forward to chatting over delicious brews and bites.”
Each Budget and Brews session will cover essential topics like millage rates, key performance indicators (KPIs), and the Vision 2035 survey results. Whether residents are interested in how the city plans to sustain its parks, invest in public safety, or enhance local infrastructure, there’s something for everyone. And the best part? You get to enjoy your favorite brew or bite while you’re at it.
