Chaplain Father Ronald Perkins {City of Coral Springs}
The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department is mourning the loss of Chaplain Father Ronald Perkins, a deeply respected spiritual leader, friend, and unwavering support to the fire service community.
Affectionately known as “Father Ron,” he was a comforting presence during times of crisis, offering strength and compassion to first responders and their families. His influence was instrumental in shaping the department’s Behavioral Health Access Program (BHAP), where he provided critical guidance during moments of tragedy, loss, and healing.
According to the fire department, beyond his spiritual role, Father Ron was a veteran, a man of faith, and a devoted friend. His reach extended well beyond Coral Springs, touching the lives of individuals across public safety agencies throughout Florida and beyond.
“Father Ron was more than a chaplain,” the department shared on Facebook. “He was a pillar of strength for our fire family.”
The department extended its deepest condolences to his wife, Karen, and to everyone who knew and loved him.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
