Families who homeschool their children but also want their education to include a social component may want to consider Beyond PLAY in Coral Springs.
Considered a homeschool education center, Beyond PLAY offers personalized and small-group academic instruction, social clubs, and tutoring for children in grades K -12.
“We offer flexible schedules, and we don’t have standardized testing,” said Andrea Hantman, founder of Beyond Play. “We help with the well-being of the entire family.”
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the children work on academics in small study groups. In the afternoon, they focus on practical life skills activities such as financial literacy and art. The students can also participate in social clubs such as gaming and science.
On Saturday, March 15, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Beyond PLAY will host a family fun day in collaboration with other community partners. There will be food vendors, a raffle, and fun activities. Sesame Street character Elmo is expected to visit.
Beyond PLAY is located at 11442 West Sample Road in Coral Springs. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and accepts Step Up for Students scholarships.
