A taste of the Bronx is coming to Coral Springs.
Bronx Bagel and Deli is slated to open around December 2021 at 10645 Wiles Road in Brookside Square. With another restaurant in Deerfield Beach, that makes two for Owner Michael Friedman.
Originally from the Bronx, Friedman wanted to bring a taste of New York to South Florida, carrying his passion for his hometown in his recipes, with his love for the Yankees décor adorning the walls.
What separates his restaurant from the pack is that everything is homemade. He bakes and boils his bagels, like most traditional places in New York.
According to Friedman, most places in Florida moved away from this practice.
Besides bagels, the Coral Springs location will serve the same authentic dishes that diners in Deerfield Beach enjoy. They can choose from an assortment of all-day breakfast items like omelets, pancakes, and a selection of breakfast sandwiches.
For those interested in breakfast wraps, there are choices such as the “All Rise,” with eggs, peppers, onions, ham, cheese, and home fries. The Spring Training includes egg whites, onions, mushrooms, pepper, and tomatoes.
The restaurant offers deli sandwiches like corned beef, pastrami, roast beef, and brisket for lunch. They also serve burgers, hot sandwiches, smoked fish, and soup.
There is also a wide selection of gourmet wraps, including five named for New York City’s five boroughs. The Bronx, for example, has roast beef, melted cheddar, and horseradish sauce.
Some of their specials include The Captain, The Boss, The Brooklyn Bomber, The Yogi, and The Godzilla.
For Friedman, he wants the restaurant to be successful and a go-to place for people in the community.
“When people want an authentic New York-style breakfast, they know where to come,” he said.
