Chabad Jewish Center invited the community to a memorable Passover Seder, with a blend of traditional rituals, insightful commentary, and a festive dinner.
On Monday, April 22, services will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Seder at 7:45 p.m. Following the insights and uplifting commentary on the Haggadah, the text that guides the Passover Seder, attendees are welcomed to enjoy a four-course traditional holiday dinner.
Passover commemorates the Hebrews’ liberation from slavery in Egypt and the “passing over” of the forces of destruction. On these seven (or eight) days, all leaven, whether in bread or other mixture, is prohibited, and only unleavened bread, called matzah, may be eaten. This matzah symbolizes both the Hebrews’ suffering while in bondage and the haste with which they left Egypt in the course of the Exodus.
Reservations are required in advance, with prices set at $50 for adults and $40 for children. For those looking to contribute further to the community’s celebration, Seder Sponsor tickets are available for $360. Click here to RSVP.
In addition to the Seder, the Chabad Jewish Center is assisting with the sale of chametz, adhering to the tradition that Jews are prohibited from owning any leavened grain products during Pesach.
Since handling chametz involves numerous “legal” intricacies, Rabbi Yankie Denburg will act on behalf of community members to sell their chametz to a non-Jew before Pesach begins and repurchase it after the holiday ends.
This service ensures that community members can observe Pesach in accordance with Torah, Rabbinic, and civil laws. The deadline for selling chametz is Friday, April 4.
