The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced the retirement of Cindy Brief, its long-serving President and CEO, after 18 years of leadership.
According to a statement from the Chamber, during her tenure, Brief oversaw the merger of the Coral Springs and Coconut Creek Chambers, doubled the size of the Trustee Program, and strengthened the Government Relations Committee as a vital advocate for local businesses. She also launched impactful initiatives such as the Professional Women’s Alliance, The Power of Inclusion Summit, and the Council of Economic Advisors.
“Leading this Chamber and working alongside such an incredible team and membership has been the honor of my career,” Brief said. “I am grateful for the support of our members and partners over the years and am confident that the Chamber will continue to thrive under new leadership.”
Although stepping down as CEO, Brief will remain with the Chamber as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.
Donna Denton, Chair of the Chamber’s Board, praised Brief’s impact. “Her vision and commitment have transformed this Chamber, and we’re grateful that she will continue to be a part of our journey in her new role,” Denton said.
Succeeding Brief is Charinus Davis, the Chamber’s Executive Vice President, with 29 years of nonprofit leadership experience.
Previously, Davis served as Chief Operating Officer of the Dan Marino Foundation and CEO of the Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce and Educational Foundation and held board positions with organizations such as the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. She is a graduate of Florida International University and the FBI Citizens Academy.
“I am deeply honored to step into this role and build on the legacy Cindy has established,” Davis said. “I look forward to continuing to serve our members and partners as we pursue new opportunities for growth and innovation.”
The leadership transition of the 500-plus member chamber takes effect on January 31, 2025.
