On Monday night, the Coral Glades boys basketball team picked up a thrilling 67-61 win over Hollywood Hills High School.
The Jaguars had a pair of freshmen and sophomores in the rotation, including Val Abreu, who had 14 points, Senior Bryan Etienne with 22, and Pat Jean Louis added eight points and six steals.
“The goal is to get them acclimated to the speed of varsity,” said Head Coach Nicolas Carr. “We want to build chemistry and get the jitters out with six players who have never played together.”
In 2020, Coral Glades won only one game during the regular season but defeated J.P. Taravella in the postseason, finishing with a 2-7 record.
Next, the Jaguars will play Fort Lauderdale High School on Wednesday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. before playing in a tournament against Kings Academy on Saturday, December 4 at 4 p.m.
