Coral Glades pitcher Haliegh Thomas has officially committed to play softball in college at Lynn University.
“It feels great to commit,” Thomas said. “The recruiting process is stressful, but I’m extremely happy I finally found my home.”
Thomas has played softball since she was six and immediately fell in love with it. She has played on Rock Gold-deLeon for the majority of her softball career and considers Coach Luis and her teammates family.
Thomas has been on he varsity softball team since she was a freshman and has seven career wins. Her ERA is 3.98 while she has struck out 293 hitters in 195.1 innings.
For college, Thomas knew immediately that Lynn would be her spot after stepping on campus and meeting the players and coaches.
“Everyone was so welcoming, Thomas added. “ I’m very grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given, and I knew I had to take it.”
With one year left before going off to college, Thomas’ main goal is to represent Coral Glades and encourage younger players to do the same. Thomas is thankful for the friendships she has built with the Jaguars and looks to help build upon the success of the last three years.
