By Sharon Aron Baron
Get ready to celebrate the holiday season with the city of Coral Springs at its annual Holiday Parade.
This year’s theme, ‘March of the Toys,’ promises to be a fun and festive event for people of all ages. Float entrants will compete for first, second, and third-place prizes, with the top three floats being recognized for their creativity, holiday spirit, and originality.
Held on Wednesday, December 14, at 7 p.m., with a rain date of December 15. The parade’s Grand Marshal will be Al Hendrickson, Sr., the Coral Springs 2022 Pioneer of the Year.
The parade is one of the city’s most popular events, drawing thousands of spectators each year. Business and non-profit entries will be judged together, with the top three floats receiving awards based on creativity, holiday spirit, use of lights, construction, and originality. Mayor Scott Brook said the parade is an opportunity to create new memories while celebrating holidays of the past.
The parade will result in road closures on Sample Road and Coral Springs Drive from 5 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Private golf carts are prohibited at the event.
