A Coral Springs man was arrested on 11 charges of trafficking in child pornography following an extensive investigation initiated in late 2023.
According to records, in October of 2023, detectives from the Coral Springs Police Department opened an investigation into a man, later identified as Michael Gill, 21, after their department received three separate cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning suspicious online activities.
The arrest report shows during the investigation, data received in the tip led to the discovery that devices and computers associated with Gill’s email address contained a large number of files depicting the rape and sexual abuse of multiple children, including infants as young as three months old.
Multiple videos are described as graphic and depict children in pain.
According to information provided by internet providers, the home in which the reported activity in the cyber tips took place was found to be located near the 5900 block of Northwest 54th Circle. Much of the information was allegedly sent through a Discord server and accessed by Gill.
After a thorough investigation, a judge approved a residential search warrant, allowing law enforcement to take action. On February 22, the CSPD SWAT team executed the warrant.
Among those interviewed was Gill, a resident of the home, who voluntarily spoke with detectives in a police vehicle. During the interview, Gill admitted to owning the Discord account at the center of the investigation.
While officers interviewed Gil, CSPD SWAT discovered a cell phone hidden under a mattress in Gill’s residence, containing over 100 videos depicting additional heinous acts.
According to records, the evidence corroborated the online activities reported to the NCMEC and led to Gill’s immediate arrest.
Gill was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. His computers and devices were seized and will be reviewed as the investigation and prosecution process continues.
