A Coral Springs man was arrested for DUI manslaughter and several other crimes following a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Deerfield Beach Monday night, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Antonio Rosario Jr., 46, of 10299 N.W. 52nd St., was driving a 2019 Chevrolet van north on Northeast Third Avenue—approaching the intersection of Northeast 48th Street—when he made a left turn into the path of a 2021 blue Jiangmen motorcycle traveling south on Northeast Third Avenue just after 8 p.m., according to BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives.
The collision left the adult male motorcyclist with terminal injuries. His name was not made public by BSO.
Paramedics took the man to Broward Health North, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Rosario Jr. continued driving for a short distance before exiting his van and “attempting to flee on foot prior to being detained by BSO Deerfield Beach deputies,” BSO said in a press release.
Rosario Jr. was arrested for several crimes, including DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, DUI property damage, and DUI second offense, according to the agency.
He was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and ordered held without bond.
