From the Coral Springs City Commission:
We are committed to offering services that meet the needs of our residents and are excited about our new partnership with ProKel Mobility and Broward County Transit for the city’s Community Bus Shuttle. Use of the shuttle is free for Coral Springs residents and includes stops at many convenient locations throughout the city. Residents can view the new routes at CoralSprings.gov/CommunityBus.
Recently, City Hall in the Mall, our go-to facility for passport services located within the Coral Square Mall (9469 W. Atlantic Blvd.), underwent renovations to provide enhanced services for our residents. If you need a passport, learn more about the requirements and use the online scheduling system at CoralSprings.gov/Passport.
Some of our most enjoyable moments as Commissioners are spent interacting with the community at city events, and throughout the month of May, there are many to choose from!
Bites-N-Sips, the popular food truck event, returns to City Hall on Friday, May 3, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The event features a stellar Star Wars theme, food trucks, drink stations, live music, and more.
Other events taking place this month include National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2. Participants of all faiths are invited to join this candlelight ceremony. The popular Shred-A-Thon, organized by our police department to prevent identity theft, will take place on Saturday, May 4. We will honor and remember our military members on Monday, May 27, with a Memorial Day Ceremony. Information about all city events can be found at CoralSprings.gov/Events.
We remain committed to mental wellness in our community. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we remind residents of a simple message: You Matter! Resources are also available for those who might need help. Dial 2-1-1 or text 898211 to be connected to local help, or dial 9-8-8 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Many other important causes and heritages are recognized throughout May. Follow along on the city’s social media accounts as we highlight the people, places, events, and initiatives that make our city shine with pride and purpose.
This month’s Commission Meetings will take place on Wednesday, May 1, at 9 a.m. and Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. As always, the public is invited to attend. The meetings are aired on CityTV, Blue Stream Channels 25, 25.7, and 725, and on AT&T U-Verse channel 99.
