Fire Safety Jamboree with the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department. {City of Coral Springs}
The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department is inviting the community to take part in an action-packed day of learning during this year’s Fire Prevention Week.
The free event, themed “Charge into Fire Safety,” will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Coral Square Mall, 9469 W. Atlantic Blvd. Families will have the opportunity to experience interactive demonstrations and gain practical skills that could help save lives during an emergency.
Activities planned for the day include a live fire demonstration, a kitchen safety demo, fire extinguisher and fire hose training, as well as CPR and AED training. Children will also have the chance to meet Sparky the Fire Dog, the department’s mascot, and explore equipment up close.
Fire officials said the event is designed to empower both children and adults with the knowledge needed to prevent fires and respond effectively in an emergency.
Residents are encouraged to stop by, engage with local firefighters, and take advantage of the demonstrations and safety activities.
