Last weekend the Coral Springs Girls Panthers softball team won the Lake Lytal Tournament held in West Palm Beach.
Head Coach Alfred Guerra said that on Saturday, the team played three games and beat Lady Gators Blue team of Palm Beach Gardens 9-0, the Lake Lytal Locomotion 14-0, and the Lady Gators orange team of Palm Beach Gardens 14-1.
On Sunday, in single elimination, they beat Lake Lytal Locomotion 12-5, then in the championship game they beat the Lady Gators Orange team of Palm Beach Gardens 13-10.
“In total they went 5-0 and outscored their opponents 62-16,” said Guerra.
The team is also coached by Assistant Coach Michelle Basso, Jonathan Rosen, Ray Lopez and Domenick Potenzano.
The team is made up of girls eight and under who were born between 2005 and 2006 and plays under the YSACS League.
Tryouts are in January and Coach Guerra encourages everyone to between these ages to participate.
