The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) chapter at Coral Springs Middle School significantly impacted the community by collecting and donating over 100 new toys to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood.
Facilitated by teacher Carrie Cusano, the NJHS chapter consists of over 100 members who uphold a rigorous academic standard by maintaining a 3.75 GPA and completing 20 community service hours annually.
The organization’s primary goal is to instill a sense of service in its members.
Throughout the spring, NJHS members dedicated their efforts to a toy drive for the hospital. Their hard work culminated on June 5, when NJHS member Sam Lapsley delivered the toys to the hospital, bringing joy to the young patients.
“I am so proud to facilitate a group of such compassionate students that truly have the drive to help others. Our future is bright,” said Cusano.
