Shred-A-Thon {City of Coral Springs}
The Coral Springs Police Department, in partnership with Shred Monkeys, will host a free Shred-A-Thon on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Sportsplex, 2575 Sportsplex Drive.
The drive-through event allows residents to securely dispose of sensitive documents to help prevent identity theft. Participation is limited to Coral Springs residents, who must display a driver’s license on their dashboard upon arrival.
Each vehicle may bring up to three file-size boxes or reusable bins of paperwork. Boxes larger than 15 by 12 by 10 inches must be placed in the trunk or another accessible area. Plastic or garbage bags will not be accepted.
Residents who bring additional boxes may shred up to three more with a $5 donation per box, benefiting the Coral Springs Police Explorer Program. Items such as trash, binders, metal or plastic rings, and clamps will not be accepted.
The event is first-come, first-served and will close once capacity is reached. In the event of inclement weather, the Shred-A-Thon will be canceled and rescheduled.
