Flooding closed all westbound lanes of Sample Road beginning at Sportsplex Drive Thursday afternoon, according to Coral Springs Police.
The closure prevented drivers from entering the Sawgrass Expressway from Sample Road in either direction.
Police also said the southbound off-ramp at the Sample Road interchange was closed.
Crews were working to remove water from the flooded area.
Police did not provide an estimated reopening time. The department said it would issue an update once the road reopened.
