A missing 4-year-old boy was found floating in the water after his father was frantically trying to find him.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. a father called 911 when his son went missing at a playground inside the Lennox Isles community off Coral Ridge Drive. He told police that when he looked up, the child was no longer there.
Both Coral Springs Police and the fire department arrived on the scene and located a toy on the side of the canal. They entered the water after finding the child and transferred him to Broward Health Coral Springs where he was pronounced dead.
According to Officer Tyler Reik it has not been confirmed if the child slipped out of an open gate at the park.
