Coral Springs Charter softball team not only picked up a win over nationally-ranked Cooper City High School, junior sensation Brianna Godfrey threw a no-hitter and hit a home run in a 6-0 victory.
Along with the home run, Godfrey had three other hits finishing the day 4-4 for the team’s fifth win of the season.
“When Bri is on her game, we are tough to beat,” said Head Coach Mark Montimurro. “We played air-tight defense and really battled in the box against an excellent arm. It was a total team effort all the way around.”
Vicki Vasquez also had a strong offensive game as she registered three hits. Stephanie Basso also recorded two RBI’s as CSC totaled 12 hits in the game.
The Panthers, who have won the past five state championships, will next be in action on Wednesday, March 10 at 6:30 against St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
