The Coral Springs Museum of Art will fill its galleries with hundreds of original artworks — only to intentionally clear them again during its Empty Walls fundraising exhibition and sale on Saturday, March 21, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Held at the museum, 2855 Coral Springs Drive, the event invites the public to help “empty the walls” by purchasing original 6-by-6-inch works created and donated by artists of all skill levels and mediums.
Each piece will be sold for $25, with proceeds supporting museum art programming and helping sustain free public access to the arts.
“Although the goal is always to keep gallery walls filled with dynamic art, Empty Walls represents a powerful moment where art leaves the gallery and becomes part of the community,” said Museum Director Juliana Forero.
Admission is free for museum members and contributing artists, who will receive complimentary early access. The evening will feature DJ music, lite bites, and a cash bar. Early-entry tickets are available for $10, and admission is free for the public during the final hour.
Empty Walls will be on view beginning March 4, alongside three additional exhibitions running through March 21.
The Superintendent’s Advanced Placement Studio Art Exhibition, presented in partnership with Broward County Public Schools, will showcase Advanced Placement works by Broward County high school students.
Florida Panthers fans can also view The Home Team by Lauren Sopourn, a photographic series printed on metal documenting the team’s back-to-back Stanley Cup runs. The exhibition will be on display in the Center for the Arts Lobby Hall Gallery through March 28.
In the Main Gallery, Imitation of Life by Dario Feal will present an immersive installation inspired by mid-century modern visual language and cinematic set design, exploring themes of identity, illusion, and memory.
Lauren Sopourn and Dario Feal will attend the March 21 fundraiser to answer questions and discuss their work. Both exhibitions are sponsored by the Broward County Cultural Division.
