During the holiday season, many college, high school and club teams escape the chilly northeast and midwest for sunny South Florida for training sessions during their school breaks.
“Training at the Aquatic Complex gives coaches a chance to get their teams away from their routines and distractions at home and schedule intensive training and conditioning sessions prior to their upcoming competition season,” Aquatics Director Mike McGoun said.
The Aquatic Complex also allows many teams to use different type of training practices that are not available to them at their own facilities, such as long course meter training and platform diving. Swimmers also have access to a full service fitness center at the Aquatic Complex.
College teams to train at the Aquatic Complex in December and January include: Alfred University, Calvin College, Case Western University, Allegheny College, TCY Swimming (Maryland), St. Lawrence University, New York University Dive team, Western Kentucky University. Dive team, University of Findlay, Marywood University, University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, Old Dominion University, George Mason University Dive team, Michigan State University Dive team, Wayne State University, UNLV Dive team, SUNY Fredonia, University of Louisville Dive team, University of Pittsburg Dive team, Wagner College, Vassar College Dive team, UMBC Dive team, University of Rochester Dive team, Bates College Dive team, Southern Connecticut State University Dive team, Xavier University, Virginia Tech Dive team, West Virginia University Dive team, University of North Dakota Dive team and Univ. of Michigan Dive team.
“Having all these teams come to Coral Springs also has great impact on our local economy,” McGoun said. “We look forward to having them here.”
