He’s the toast of Coral Springs—and beyond.
Matt Kinsey, who has called the city home for 26 years, is the new International President of Toastmasters International, the organization devoted to developing public speaking and leadership skills.
Kinsey assumed the one-year term at the organization’s 2022 International Convention held in Nashville in August.
“I have learned that to be most successful, you need to lead with your heart and not your head,” said Kinsey, who lives in the Village Green area. “There is no finer program than Toastmasters for helping people build their self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills.”
Both Kinsey’s children graduated from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Brandon in 2007, and Erin in 2009.
Brandon attended Riverside Elementary School and Ramblewood Middle School. Erin attended Riverside Elementary School and Coral Springs Middle School.
Kinsey is the managing director and Chief Information Security Officer of IT Fusion, LLC in Coral Springs, which was formed due to a merger between MK Tech Group and three other local IT firms.
He oversees operations and security for the IT consulting firm, which services small and medium-sized businesses in the South Florida area.
Kinsey holds a master’s degree in computer information systems from the University of Phoenix and was recognized with the Silver Beaver and Vigil Honor awards for his work with the Boy Scouts of America, where he has done volunteer work for more than 25 years.
A Toastmaster since 2003, Kinsey is a charter member of his home club, Outspoken Toastmasters in Coral Springs, which he co-founded with his wife, Jeanine, in 2010.
Kinsey has held several high-profile leadership positions within Toastmasters and has attained the Distinguished Toastmasters designation—the highest level of educational achievement in the organization.
“I’m very proud of our seven clubs based in Coral Springs, which meet in in-person, hybrid, and online formats,” Kinsey said. “Toastmasters has made a positive contribution in Coral Springs.”
Times and locations for all club meetings in Coral Springs can be found at Toastmasters.
