The year-long festivities for Temple Beth Orr began on September 9, 2022, with a 50th Anniversary Shabbat service. The occasion was marked by a special presentation from the City of Coral Springs, with Mayor Scott Brook, Vice Mayor Josh Simmons, Commissioner Joy Carter, Commissioner Shawn Cerra, and Commissioner Nancy Metayer presenting a Proclamation to Temple Beth Orr.
The event featured esteemed speakers, including Rabbi Melissa Stollman from the Union for Reform Judaism, Lois Rubin from the Broward Association of Reform Temples, and State Representatives Christine Hunschofsky and Dan Daley. The Clergy Coalition of Coral Springs and Parkland also participated in the celebration.
Reflecting on the year of celebrations, Temple Beth Orr’s President, Mathew Meyer, expressed his gratitude to everyone who participated in the events. He highlighted the temple’s exceptional Early Childhood Center, excellent Religious School, and the involvement of Rabbi Laura Rappaport, who is dedicated to engaging families in various activities.
Meyer urged individuals who haven’t attended events to visit the temple’s website and explore the diverse program calendar, from academic lectures and studying Jewish history to BINGO, Canasta, Mah Jongg, movie nights, game nights, and comedy events.
