A woman was arrested on a felony warrant alleging she neglected a 2-year-old child who ingested fentanyl and became unresponsive while in her care.
According to the Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Donnaca Eva Lagrace Denson, 24, of Daytona Beach, is accused of child neglect in a case in which investigators allege that while serving as the caregiver for a 2-year-old child on December 12, 2025, she failed to provide the supervision and care necessary to protect the child, who allegedly ingested fentanyl and became unresponsive.
Authorities note that while the child became unresponsive, the incident did not result in great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement.
The warrant was filed in Broward County Circuit Court on June 25 after a Coral Springs Police detective sought it earlier this year.
Records do not indicate the circumstances under which the child obtained the fentanyl or how serious the child’s condition became.
Following her arrest on June 25, Denson was transported to the Broward County Main Jail and subsequently released on a $100 bond.
The charge remains pending, and the case is under review.
