The Coral Springs Charter baseball team now has four college commits, with Mason Alexander and Yadison Karbalaieasghar making their pick.
These two players join Julein Spinola, who committed earlier this year to Eastern University, while Enzo Gurgel will play at La Salle University.
Alexander will be playing college baseball at Palm Beach State College.
"I would like to thank my family and teammates for supporting me since the start," Alexander said. “ I would also like to thank my coaches for guiding me to be a better person on and off the field."
Alexander is a catcher who leads the team with a .295 batting average. He has homered twice and has four extra bases, along with eight RBIs. Alexander will be joining a team that went 24-19 last season but has struggled a bit this season.
"I would like to thank my family and teammates for supporting me since the start, Alexander said. "I would also like to thank my coaches for guiding me to be a better person on and off the field."
Karbalaieasghar will play in college at the United States Coast Guard Academy.
“I would like to thank God, my Mom, Dad, Ryan, Kilenny, Jonathan Corbitt, Michael Mooney, Marcus Mooney, Eddie Spinola, Alvaro Gomez, and Coach Casey," Karbalaieasghar said. “I wouldn't be where I am without them."
Karbalaieasghar is having a terrific season as a senior shortstop for the Panthers. He has hit one home run, four doubles, and eight RBIs while hitting .303. He will be joining a team that went 24-11 a season ago and is well above .500 this season.
Both players will continue their varsity careers with Coral Springs Charter. The Panthers have routinely made it to Regionals and are 9-10 this season. They will play their next game on Tuesday, April 8, against Western High School at 6:30 p.m. before closing the season with games against Cooper City and ABF Academy.
