This summer has been full of thrilling baseball games, particularly in the North Springs Little League.
They had five teams compete in the District Tournament and had a pair of teams take first place, including the 11u and Senior All-Star Teams.
The 11u team lost their first game against Fort Lauderdale but responded with a 10-1 win over Parkland. North Springs then had to beat Fort Lauderdale twice to win the championship.
“It says a lot about this them to come back from last year losing to Fort Lauderdale in the Championship Game and then losing in their opening game,” Head Coach Gabe Burden said. “It was definitely kind of deflating, but they came back and beat them twice, outscoring them 14-8 in the two games. “
Their team consists of Blake Burden, Tyler Odell, Jorden Gasper, Luke Niedda, Thomas Scheidt, Jack Parham, Brody Tudor, Mason McElhinney, Brayden Basso, Brayden Johnson, Mason Steinberg, and Blake Budd.
The Senior team, who came with one game a winning the World Series last year, dominated in their two games, winning 12-0 and 15-1.
“Many of these boys play such high levels of baseball and other sports, but to put on the North Springs Teal and Black still means so much to them, head coach Jason Rosoff said. “It’s very cool to be a part of.”
Their team consists of Breylynn Courtney, Carter Hayden, Damarion (DC) Chung, Erick Torres, Gabe Rodrigo, Gianni Carbone, Jake Rosoff, Jayden Claudio, Andrew Sarro, Kyle Jensen, Nick Hammerman, Nick Milosevich, Payton Jay, Ricky Wharton, Van Maxwell, and Vincent Campbell.
They will play in States on July 7 in Saint Augustine, while the 11u team will play in Sectionals on July 8 in Miami Springs.
North Springs had three other teams competing. The 10U team went 1-2 and won over Deerfield Beach. The Juniors fell in the championship game, while the 12u team dropped both games.
