Three varsity wrestling teams competed in the Coral Springs Duels this weekend at Coral Springs High School, where teams from around Broward County competed.
The Colts were led by Chase Martin, J’Vier Romeus, Jaylan Brown, and Sebastian Bolt, who all went undefeated. individual competition helping the Colts go 6-0. J.P. Taravella continued their excellent season with solid results from Jake Rosen and Marquez Harris.
Despite missing some key wrestlers, Coral Springs Charter went 5-4 overall. They had wins over St. Andrews, McArthur, J.P. Taravella, Dillard, and Westminster Academy.
Elijah Perez and Preston Wilson both went 9-0. Hunter Perez, Keon Taylor, and Peter Mocco all went 8-1, while Logan Bosworth, Brandon Hankerson, and Ameer Salah combined to win eight matches.
“What really stands out for me is that the team comes together and supports one another no matter if we win or lose,” said Head Coach Eric Perez.
CSC is set to host Senior night on Thursday, Jan. 19, against Marjory Stoneman Douglas. The Miami Beach Duals will take place on Jan.21, and the BCAA Duels will be held on Jan. 27-28.
