Coral Springs residents may encounter traffic delays due to maintenance and improvements to the northbound and southbound bridges on Coral Springs Drive south of Ramblewood Drive.
Starting January 10, 2017, the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD), a part of Broward County Government, will be working on the West Outfall Canal project and completing it on or before March 24, 2017, barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
The project includes installing a new concrete barrier wall, asphalt paving of the bridge, installation of bridge joints, guardrail upgrades, and installation of aluminum handrails on the bridge improving overall pedestrian access. Construction activities include concrete demolition, concrete barrier wall installation, sidewalk repairs, guardrail upgrades, paving of all traffic lanes, re-striping and associated maintenance of traffic.
Some lane closures will be required on Coral Springs Drive between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. However, two lanes will remain open at all times. Northbound or southbound sidewalks will be available to pedestrians at all times and pedestrians should follow posted detours.
