A fight over smoking pot escalated into a double stabbing at the Island Club apartments on Tuesday.
Artner Jocelyn, 26, who lived with his mother and her live-in boyfriend Cenel Saul inside the complex at 9022 NW 28th drive, were arguing over Joycelyn’s smoking marijuana inside and outside of the apartment according to a police report. When the argument escalated, Joycelyn armed himself with a kitchen knife and intentionally stabbed Saul five to six times including one in the head, two in the back and three in the neck.
He then ran to the master bedroom and stabbed his mother Jesula Fleurier eight to ten times which included three times to the back, one to the right breast, one in the lower abdomen, one in the upper left thigh and multiple times to the genital area.
In an attempt to locate help, Saul fled the residence. Once outside, he ran eastbound, however,  Joycelyn then pursued him on foot. Saul ran down three flights of stairs and continued running along the sidewalk where Joycelyn continued pursuing him until they reached the next apartment building, but ultimately stopped when he saw multiple people outside the building.Â
Joycelyn then entered Saul’s vehicle, which was when a Coral Springs Police officer arrived on the scene and made contact with a neighbor who identified him. A knife was found on the front driver’s seat.
The mother remained in the bedroom with severe stab wounds and managed to lock herself inside until law enforcement arrived. Saul was transported to Broward Health North and Fleurier was airlifted where they remain hospitalized.
Jocelyn was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder. He is being held without bond.
