A Coral Springs officer was bit by a dog while assisting on a call on Tuesday.
According to Police Detective Ernesto Bruna, at around 11:15 a.m. while assisting another officer in another jurisdiction, the officer knocked on the door of a home in the 3700 block of Northwest 115th Terrace. When the owner answered, the pit bull mix ran out and bit the Coral Springs Police officer in the inner thigh breaking the skin.
The officer contacted dispatch who sent rescue to the scene.
While an investigation is underway, the dog will be quarantined inside of the home. The owner will likely be cited, said Bruna.
