The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts & Garden Fest urgently needs community volunteers for this week’s event and actively seeks additional last-minute sign-ups.
The 18th Annual Coral Springs Festival of the Arts & Garden Fest returns to The Walk on March 16 and 17Â from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, a critical shortage of volunteer workers has hindered this year’s preparations.
With an estimated 30,000 visitors contributing nearly $1 million to the local economy, the Festival needs 30 adult and ten student volunteers for traffic and parking. Students can earn service hours.
In comments provided to Coral Springs Talk, Ryan Drendel, Chair of the Festival Traffic/Safety Committee, said, “Managing the influx of visitors is essential. Our traffic volunteers are key in guiding festival-goers to off-site parking and shuttle services, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.”
To address traffic issues and more, the Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is pleading for last-hour volunteers and introducing a unique opportunity for local small businesses. In return for their volunteerism, the Festival will offer them valuable time in a booth to showcase their services to thousands of attendees.
Terri Poehler, Keller Williams Realtor, longtime Coral Springs resident, and the Festival’s adult volunteer coordinator, tells Coral Springs Talk the arrangement seems like a no-brainer for everyone involved, “It’s a win-win situation because small businesses gain invaluable exposure by participating in our festival, and in return, their volunteer hours help us create a successful event.”
Gillian Johnson, the Director of Marketing with Amera, also shed light on the Festival’s importance, which makes its success a high priority for the city.
“The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is not just an event; it’s a year-long labor of love. Our executive board and over 30 committee members tirelessly plan this Festival, which is more than just a fun weekend; it’s a vital cultural heartbeat of our community.”
