A new Coral Springs initiative will tap the experience and talents of retired and soon-to-be-retired City residents to beautify the City as part of Re-engage for Good: City Challenge. Anyone born between 1946 and 1964 is invited to attend an initial meeting to discuss a new beautification program called “Keep Coral Springs Beautiful…for the Next 50 Years!” The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at the West Wing Conference Room in City Hall.
Adults will be paired with a group of teen volunteers, and together they’ll come up with strategies and projects they’d like to undertake, similar to Broward County’s Adopt-a-Street program. The adults will serve as the team captain and will be responsible for modeling leadership and instilling a sense of community pride in the younger generation.
“With the City celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, maintaining our aesthetics is a priority. This initiative will help keep our city beautiful while engaging with our baby boomers with our youth,” Mayor Vince Boccard said.
To find out how you can get involved or to RSVP for the meeting, contact Project Leader Frank Gross at 954-345-2218 or e-mail fgross@coralsprings.org.
