The Coral Springs Museum of Art welcomed nearly 700 visitors during its opening days Oct. 9-10, unveiling a new downtown gallery with an exhibition of original prints by Pablo Picasso.
Located at 3380 N. University Drive, the relocated museum celebrated its grand opening with music in the gallery, limited-edition merchandise and the debut of “Picasso: A Graphic Journey.”
The exhibition features 57 original prints Picasso created between 1923 and 1972 and will remain on view through Dec. 5. Support comes from the Broward County Cultural Division, with funding from the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.
Visitors can also explore “Cages and Collage,” an exhibition by local artist Janet Gold, through Jan. 30, 2027.
The new gallery offers more than 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, with a street-facing design overlooking Sample Road and flexible walls to accommodate rotating exhibitions. Amenities include a retail store, coffee station and creative studio.
The move coincides with a refreshed museum identity and a redesigned website focused on the visitor experience.
While exhibitions have moved downtown, art classes and other creative programs will continue at the CSMoA Creative Studios on the second floor of the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive.
The downtown gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and noon to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.
