Around 4:30 a.m. this morning, Coral Springs Police Officers were dispatched to the Grand Oasis Condominium Homes off of Riverside Drive in reference to a suspicious incident.
A resident of the complex called police to advise they observed several individuals standing around a vehicle with flashlights when the car alarm went off. After activating the alarm, the subjects immediately fled on foot and entered a vehicle.
An officer was able to locate the vehicle the individuals were traveling in and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle, a 1998 Plymouth van reported stolen from Coral Springs a few nights earlier did not stop, but instead accelerated and attempted to flee. The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree in the 3600 block of Woodside Drive. All the occupants of the vehicle then began to flee on foot from the stolen vehicle.
Police officers were able to locate and arrest two subjects, Vandivuiet Williams, 19, from Hallandale Beach and a juvenile male from Coral Springs.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Paul Kempinski at 954-346-1214.
