Coral Springs tees up the Annual MLK Golf Classic, where every swing chips in for education.
The Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee is gearing up to host its “Golfing for the King” on Friday, March 8, at the Country Club of Coral Springs at 10800 W Sample Road.
This charitable event aims to raise funds for the MLK Scholarship Fund, which aids high school seniors in Coral Springs by providing financial assistance for tuition and other educational needs without restriction on ethnicity.
“The MLK Committee and city staff put forth so much effort to create a memorable experience for participants while raising money to benefit future leaders in our community, said Commissioner Joshua Simmons, who serves as the committee liaison.
Participants can register starting at 7 a.m., with the event officially commencing at 8 a.m. through a shotgun start.
The participation fee is set at $150 per individual, with an option for companies to sponsor a corporate foursome at $1,500. This sponsorship level not only aids in funding scholarships but also grants recognition as a Par Sponsor on the city’s website, along with exclusive signage and logo placement on the event’s photo backdrop.
Following the tournament, players will be treated to a buffet-style award lunch. Those interested in joining have until Friday, March 1, to register.
Simmons added, “Just like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ‘When we help others, we become part of something bigger than ourselves.’ This tournament and the additional work done throughout the year helps and empowers others, and that is something I am incredibly proud of.”
