A man faces aggravated stalking charges after repeatedly following and threatening a man, even after being issued a restraining order.
On February 9, the Coral Springs Police Department was called to a residential area in response to a violation of a court-issued injunction.
Upon arrival, officers were briefed by the victim, who claimed a man, later identified as Nissim Hassan, 67, of Coral Springs, had aggressively approached him and a company contractor who were discussing inspections on the front steps of a building.
According to the report, witnesses reported that Hassan obstructed the area with his vehicle, parking behind cars and preventing residents from freely coming and going, which caused anger and arguments to become increasingly heated.
Hassan, violating a non-expiring restraining order that mandates him to maintain a 25-feet distance from the victim, shouted threats and obscenities, including “Motherf-cker, I’m going to get you! I’m going to f-ck you in the ass!”
The victim recounted to police how Hassan continued his verbal threats, including threats of physical harm, and took multiple photographs of license plates, which left everyone involved in fear for their safety.
CSPD quickly confirmed the existence of the restraining order, which explicitly prohibits Hassan from engaging in verbal communication with the victim and restricts his proximity to them, especially in common areas of the condominium complex.
Officers reviewed CCTV footage, which corroborated the victim’s account of the event.
The victim told officers they live in constant fear due to Hassan’s repeated violations of the injunction and references to owning firearms.
Upon contacting Hassan, he claimed his rights to access the property and alleged that the victim was blocking his way, aiming to provoke a confrontation.
Despite his claims, officers, having reviewed the evidence and Hassan’s history of injunction violations, arrested him for aggravated stalking.
Hassan was transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
