The Coral Springs Museum of Art will celebrate Black History Month with a special Art@Night event on Thursday, Feb. 19, inviting the community to enjoy live performances, interactive art activities, and access to current exhibitions.
The happy-hour-style event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the museum, located at 2855 Coral Springs Drive.
The evening will feature a performance by Kizie the Violist, a multi-instrumental stage performer who has performed alongside Grammy-nominated artists including Lil’ Kim, Keith Washington, Jay-Z, and OutKast.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to create quilt squares inspired by renowned Black quilters, enjoy spoken-word poetry presented by the Exit 36 Poetry Slam Team, and collaborate on community poetry pieces.
Light bites will be available for purchase from Reggae Beets mobile catering.
In addition to performances and art-making activities, guests can explore the museum’s current exhibitions, Casa Dolce Casa by Tommaso Fattovich and Underneath the Surface of Sight by Lisa MacNamara.
Held every two months, Art@Night is the museum’s signature after-hours event for adults seeking a social and creative evening experience. Upcoming events include Art@Night: Garden Party on April 23 and Art@Night: Caribbean Night on June 11.
Admission is free, with beverages and food available for purchase. RSVP at CoralSpringsMuseum.org/Night.
