Florida students hoping to qualify for a Bright Futures Scholarship have until Aug. 31 to submit their Florida Financial Aid Application.
The Florida Lottery reminds eligible students to complete the application, known as the FFAA, to be considered for the state-funded scholarship program.
“The Bright Futures Scholarship Program has helped generations of Florida students turn their dreams into reality by providing critical support throughout their educational journeys,” Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald D. Dixon said, adding, “We advise every student to learn more about the program and understand the requirements they must meet to receive a Bright Futures Scholarship.”
Funded by the Florida Lottery, the Bright Futures Scholarship Program rewards eligible Florida students for academic achievement and community involvement while helping cover the cost of higher education and career training.
According to the Florida Lottery, more than 1 million students have received assistance through Bright Futures since the program began. Lottery proceeds have contributed more than $51 billion toward education in Florida.
Florida Commissioner of Education Henry Mack encouraged eligible students not to miss the approaching deadline.
“I encourage every eligible student to complete their Florida Financial Aid Application by August 31 and take this important step toward turning their educational dreams into reality,” Mack said.
Students can learn more about scholarship options, eligibility requirements and the application process through the Bright Futures program. The scholarships can be used at eligible Florida colleges, universities and career and technical education programs.
The Florida Lottery has also released public service announcements in English and Spanish explaining scholarship requirements, award options and career and technical education pathways.
Students must submit the FFAA by Aug. 31 to be considered for a Bright Futures Scholarship.
