The world is visiting South Florida for the World Cup, and the games are heating up this July with the most important stages leading up to the crowning of a champion!
Want to watch the games with soccer fans from across the globe and right here in Broward? Many District 3 restaurants will be hosting local watch parties, or join us at Amerant Bank Arena for free watch parties – either way, it will be a great time for all! With the Jumbotron providing one of the biggest screens in South Florida and air conditioning to keep you cool, this will be an experience to remember! Check out all the information at Broward.org/worldcup2026 and enjoy all the soccer action!
Did you know that Broward County offers programs to teach kids how to swim? Drowning is a leading cause of death for children and is preventable with education. Swim Central runs programs throughout the year to teach young kids water safety and basic swimming skills. Since 1999, Swim Central has enrolled more than 700,000 children in swimming lessons and programs. For more information on signing up call 954-357-7946 or email swimcentral@broward.org.
Is your community feeling the bite from mosquitoes? Summer months are known for large amounts of mosquitoes throughout Broward County. Remember to avoid being out at dawn and dusk to prevent bites and make sure to empty any standing water that you may find. Broward County is also here to help. Request mosquito control to evaluate your community for potential remedies. Please call 954-831-3940 to receive a mosquito service form and let’s take the bite out of mosquitoes.
Florida Panthers 2026 Summer Reading Tour is making stops at libraries across Broward County! There will be games, exciting giveaways, and special appearances by Stanley C. Panther and Viktor E. Ratt, a guest reader, and Panther Patrol! Don’t forget to wear your Cats gear to show your Panther pride! Make this a summer to remember with books, fun and our Florida Panthers! For more information visit Broward.org/library.
Finally, July means Happy Birthday America, and it is a big birthday! This year marks 250 years of independence and America being a world leader. District 3 cities will be pulling out all the stops as we celebrate this milestone. From fireworks displays, parades, and community concerts, our cities have many great events to enjoy. Please remember to celebrate in a safe manner so all can enjoy.
