During a Special School Board Meeting on Thursday, the Broward County School Board approved a contract with Superintendent Dr. Vickie L. Cartwright.
The School Board selected Dr. Cartwright to lead the state’s second-largest school district on February 9, 2022, following a national search for candidates.
According to a contract, the new superintendent will earn $350,000 a year.”I would like to thank the Board members for their support and belief in me as the new leader of Broward
Cartwright also thanked her mentors who have prepared me for this role and her many partnerships.
“I am excited for this new journey as we continue to build upon the great things in Broward and pave new pathways of excellence in our School District for the benefit of students and the community,” adding, “I would also like to thank my husband, son, and family for being so supportive, as well as my close friends, community members, employees, and students.
Dr. Cartwright has served as the District’s Interim Superintendent since August 2, 2021.
