Head Coach of Coral Glades Cam Thomas has been terrific in turning around the varsity football team.
After a historic season for the Jaguars, Coach Thomas was nominated as a finalist for the Broward Fellowship of Christian Athlete Coach of the Year after leading his team to the State Playoffs for the first time in school history.
“What I love about Coach Cam is the culture he’s installing with these young men,” said Athletic Director Kristen Garcia. “He has all these players believing, and the results have shown.”
The Jaguars finished the regular season with a 6-2 record following wins against Coral Springs High School, Taravella, Charles W. Flanagan, West Broward, Cypress Bay, and Coral Springs Charter. They ended up scoring three touchdowns in their playoff game against one of the top teams in the state.
The Jaguars had over 1,100 passing and rushing yards and allowed only six points or less in three games. Coach Thomas had his first player commit to a Division I Program with Josh Guerin heading to the Naval Academy.
“This is just another big step for our program,” said Coach Thomas. “I think it would be great to win and excited to be able to bring some of my players to the event.”
The event will be held on March 5 at Signature Grand in Davie.
