Cook and The Cork Rolls Out Japanese Night for Culinary Scholarships

The Cook and The Cork is serving up a special evening of Japanese-inspired cuisine to help aspiring chefs at the Culinary Institute of America pursue their dreams.
The Coral Springs restaurant will host a Japanese Night fundraiser Tuesday, Sept. 8, with proceeds benefiting culinary scholarships. The event will feature a Japanese tasting menu throughout the evening and an eight-course, small-plate menu.
According to co-owner Dena Blauschild, they are offering a special Japanese whisky Shiki Single Malt Whisky.
“We also have special beers: Coedo IPA and Pilsner from Japan, and Dassai Blue is co-sponsoring the event with a range of their very special sakes, made in the USA from rice grown in the USA," she said.
The menu includes a Florida lobster and avocado sushi roll, smoked tuna tacos with yuzu cucumber and sea vegetables, karaage chicken with lemon and ginger, and shiitake mushroom and tofu gyoza with ponzu dipping sauce.
Additional courses include Wagyu steak skewers with wafu sauce and grilled corn potato salad, asparagus and watercress with ginger-sesame dressing, togarashi-crusted salmon with chilled soba noodles, and matcha cheesecake with plum sauce.
Tickets are $86 per person, with tax, beverages, and gratuity charged separately. Reservations and additional information are available at Cook and the Cork.
